My December 2005!
As i have said, my December 2005 was a blast!!! I'll try to put every single memory i have about my December 2005 here :)
NLDS 2005
The best NLDS i have even been . Humm, i know it's a bit bias to say so because i was involved as facilitator this time. However, i love the facilitator team so much, the MC, Kenny ( Senior Singapore) , Jasmine ( AIESEC Malaysia) and BBBBBoomi ( AIESEC Hong Kong/ Nigeria)! We were a Great GREAT team. Oh,I miss our International facils. Not only we rock as facils *wink* we also became close friends, sharing our problems in and out of AIESEC. And we managed to get to know our fellow senior member, Kenny Boy better and had him joining the girls for outings( Gagagaga) We also met up with Jas when we went to Malaysia. Oh where is my Bommmmi?? The members were another reason why i had a great NLDS. Though the turnout was abit disappointing, those who present were inspiring and EXCELLENT! They showed me that they were no newies anymore. They are really intelligent, creative, open minded and hey they have many many great ideas to share! AIESECers! It was so painful for me to see them having sleepless nights coming up with their PBox ideas and presentations. I was guilty for being part of the 3 people who inititated the PBox activities but i seriously think that this way they will be able to get the best learning and knowledge. The OC team was once again...ROCKS! They were very very helpful to us, facils and the delegates. Sorry and Thank you so much to the OC, for entertaining even my last minute needs. We had debrief every night and i must say the OC were the best when it comes to learning from suggestions, advices and mistakes. I dont think we facils did as good as them. I had the greatest satisfaction when the members said that they had great time, knowledge and memory to bring back. There was an emotional closing, i regret not having to stay till the very last as i had to rush for my coach to Kuala Lumpur with the OCSEA delegates ( yea, i m sorry for not helping in cleaning up) Pictures will speak better, so come back soon !And so, NLDS 2005, where the next generation of leaders were born!
Oceania South East Asia Leadership Development Seminar ( OCSEA LDS)
I rushed from NLDS back to my room, do my laundry ( coz i will not be back in Singapore after that) and rushed to the bus terminal to catch the coach to Kuala Lumpur. Gosh it was a terrible rush! My clothes were only 85% dried. And poor Imran had to bear the look and temper of the bus driver because Alvin and I were late. The journey, too tired, we just slept our way through. Arrived in KL at abt 3 am! Walked to the hotel, realized no one was there, we hang around in the lobby, watching Korean drama on laptop, talking, walking around and at last slept on the couch :) till the OC came and found us sslleeeeepig away. Ok, it's funny, but i wasnt an OCSEA delegate. :) I was supposed to met up with my sister in KL to go home to Penanag together but she called me before I left for KL that her friend happened to be driving up to Penang so she is going home with him.. Oh such a wonderful sister. Well, fortunately i have friends in KL and i wanted to join the OCSEA programmes. After my final exam paper, i only have about 2 days to the NLDS pre-conference and then 4-day NLDS, i was EXtremely tired, unconsciously i slept at the comfortable Executive Lounge on the first day of conference :S...The rest was history :) Joined them for some activities, and got to know quite some delegates from OCSEA. From OCSEA, i also got to know the 3 Singapore junior delegates a lot better...from all my posts, you can see, i enjoy knowing people..not only i want to be their AIESEC friends, i also want to be their 'non-AIESEC' friends. AIESEC may be where we started and our common link but friendship beyond AIESEC is always the best present i have got from AIESEC. I am glad that i am able to spend crazy vacation in KL with the MC ( yeap, we did not discuss about AIESEC most of the time) and going for movie, pool ( and playing mahjong later today )with my fellow AIESECers.
Alright, the first two events of my December 2005. I have a meeting later, so i better get prepared. Will continue when i am free .
