Bangkok U Student Leader Visit

Today we hosted a group of student leaders from Bangkok U. Wow, they were impressive, energetic and very friendly! i love them, lots! In the beginning it was slow, and boring, coz i was all alone, they were a bit late and i don't know anyone while the rest coming from the Union already know each other and was busy with preparation. So, i thought, i must make the best out of this event , even before their arrival. So, i started talking and making friends with few presidents from the non-constituents and thing started to get very interesting. And then after our guest arrived, it was simply so GREAT! Especially after i found the AIESEC LCP of Bangkok U ( he's actually the VP of Eastern Bangkok) We were divided into different groups for discussion. We, the presidents from both uni discussed anything and everything from Leading our club/org and Office Management to our respective countries to Durians and food. Had a great time, and friendship was amazing on this day, beyond language barrier. One more amazing thing i want to highlight, both of us the Presidents from AIESEC have so much in common, our name cards, our AIESEC language and the moment we met, it seemed that we knew each other for ages already, prompting one person to ask me, do you know them already before you come? We were the only 2 from both side having the same name card design, again people asking, oh so you all already agree upon the same template? yea,we said it's BRANDING. When others are talking about 'senior teach junior' in office management, both of us look at each other and said ah ...'TRANSITION' ...

Knowing new countries through the experience of my Friends

I have wanted to post about this quite sometime ago, about how amazing we can learn and get to know about a country through the experience of our friends. I have been to India for IC last August. I was there for about 2 weeks and was mesmerized and fell in love with the amazing India. And i thought i know and saw much about this country already. Well, when my friend CY goes to India for his company traineeship, he write a lot about India. I realized, i actually didnt know about India at all. I only saw the superficial and from him, i started to know about the why and how about what i saw. Isn't it amazing, i am experiencing India again. It's just different from reading article or news about those places. Knowing and reading from your friend's experiences is so real. And these does not only happened with the places that i have gone, it's the same for the places i have not been, when i read on their blogs, i can imagine from the pictures and description. Just so great! Now, you know, i love travelling and i am glad enough if i can ' travel' through your experiences..so write more!!

Where is passion when you needed it the most?

Done with exam a few days ago ( yahooo) . Khim is gone, in Germany now ( he's good, talked to him yst) . Have been busy ever since, with Emails, LC, and NLDS. I guess my fellow LCP frm Malaysia was right, Where is passion when you needed it the most? I felt so disappointed with myself, not being able to deliver the results i expect myself to. I know it sounds so passive , no quality of a good AIESEC leader at all but i have gave all my best and am tired. I am disappoited with the results of my LC so far, i don't see the difference that i have done. I know some MC are reading, but i have no where else to express my thoughts and feeling. I felt no sense of belonging and felt unnecessary in the last MC meeting yst. I don't find the jokes funny at all. Some people are disappointing and discouraging. I don't know what to do next, I dont want to let my AIESEC career end here, but i just dont see the difference that i have made.
I guess i need a break out from Singapore, i have been staying in for too long. Last 3 years, i have only gone home for only about 1 month all together. I will be staying longer this time. I am at a crossroad now, should i end my AIESEC career after this term or come back slightly earlier for election? There have been ups and downs. Life is full of choices and it's about making decision. Should i take the road less travelled? I shall think about it :) I always love that poem by Robert Frost.
Speaking abt election, all the MTP session, long transitions, are they effective? okey maybe different protfolio will have different response to that. I think for me, IC made much much more difference :) Don't worry, i may sound so passive, I won't give up on my LC, my LC is too close to my heart, i will always do my best for my LC :). Thank you blog, i felt much better, it's a beautiful Sunday, I will continue my work now. Have a nice week ahead.
